Are you (or do know) a coach that is procrastinating on signing up their team for the tournament? If so, this is an urgent appeal to you (or to your friend) to PLEASE hurry up and register your team for the tournament! We know that January 31st is the deadline. However, it would be immensely helpful if we have most of the registrations well ahead of the deadline, so we can start planning accordingly. Remember, this is our FIRST YEAR of operations, so we have no history to go on for planning purposes. For example, the total number of teams determines the number of judges that the teams will contribute, which will tell us how many additional judges WE need to recruit to have all the positions covered. If we scramble around at the last minute, we may end up with less than the full complement, which would not be in the best interests of the kids. WE WANT OUR FIRST YEAR TO BE A SMASHING SUCCESS FOR THE KIDS! Please help us out by signing up NOW.

Talking of judges, it is almost certain that we are going to be short this year. So, if anyone has additional volunteer judges (beyond the required one), it would be VERY helpful. So, please start getting the word out, and get more than one person to volunteer! Here are some specific strategies to find judge volunteers:

• Talk to teachers and administrators at your school and see if they would be willing to judge
• Check with colleagues at work to see if they are interested in a fun volunteering opportunity
• Ask college student relatives if they would be interested

Please make sure that the judge volunteers are free on Feb 16th for the training and March 8th for the competition.
