Tournament Registration & Fee Payment PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 19 December 2007

Tournament registration has the following steps:

Note: Steps 1 & 2 must be completed by the school (or other sponsoring organization) Odyssey co-ordinator

  1. School Membership: Prior to January 15, 2010, ensure that your school is registered with the international Odyssey of the Mind organization. To register, and obtain a membership number for your school, please have your school co-ordinator go to this link. Note that the Membership Registration fee of $135 is due with the registration. NOTE: you will have access to the detailed problems ONLY after you have paid your registration fees. THEREFORE YOU ARE ADVISED TO SIGN UP IMMEDIATELY, so the students can start working on the problems. If you wait till the deadline date, it is WAY TOO LATE to get started! Also, the only available mandatory coach training sessions are in October and November, and you need to have registered your school before then.
  2. State Fee Payment: Once your school has registered with the international Odyssey of the Mind organization, they will receive an invoice for $65 from the California State Odyssey of the Mind association. That fee needs to be paid, as per the invoice. NEW! This year, you can pay the State Membership Fees online using Google Checkout (just as you can pay the Silicon Valley regional tournament fees). Here is the link to the online State Membership Fee Payment system.

Note: Steps 3 to 5 must be completed by EACH team
  3. Team Registration: Each team competing in the Regional Tournament must register using this link. (note: this link will take you to the international Odyssey of the Mind web site, where you will enter your school's Membership Number and Zip Code. Please contact your school co-ordinator for the membership number. Email us if you don't know who your school co-ordinator is. Once you log in, you can register your team by using the Team Registration link)
  4. Regional Tournament Fees: Each team needs to pay the Tournament Registration Fee of $75 prior to January 31st, 2010. Late registration fee of $105 will be accepted between February 1st and February 15th, 2009. NO registration will be accepted after February 15th. There are two methods for paying this. You can either mail in the payment (along with a printed copy of your registration confirmation from the international web site) to the address below. Or, you can use a credit card to pay online, using Google Checkout. There is more information on this below.
  5. Judge & Volunteer Registration: Finally, you MUST have both a Judge and a Volunteer register with the international Odyssey of the Mind website, by using links that will be provided here later .

Judge Registration, click here!

Volunteer Registration, Click here!

YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT, UNLESS ALL 5 STEPS ABOVE ARE COMPLETED!

The preferred method of registration payments is online using Google Payment Service.  However, if teams wish to register via manual checks, the following process must be followed:

1.  All checks must be made payable to "Silicon Valley Odyssey of the Mind"
2.  All checks must be mailed to:
          Silicon Valley OotM
          c/o Sunil Dhar
          39791 Benavente Ave
          Fremont, CA 94539-3005
3.  All registration materials and payments must be "received" not post-marked before January 31, 2010.
Since January 31, 2010 is a Sunday, all registrations must be received by Jan 30, 2010. On-time registration fees are $75.

4. Late registration period is Feb1st - 15th. At this time, the registration fees are $105.

5. No registrations/fee payments will be accepted after Feb 15th.
6.  Silicon Valley OM will not be responsible for late mail delivery.

Membership Costs PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 05 April 2007

There are 3 components to the cost of membership:

  1. The association fees directly paid to the Odyssey of the Mind international organization (per membership)
  2. State fees paid to the California State Odyssey of the Mind organization (per membership)
  3. Tournament fees paid to this regional organization, per team that will compete in the regional tournament

The first two are enumerated and explained at the California State Odyssey of the Mind website, on the link Cost of Participation.

The third fee, paid to the region to offset the costs of running the regional tournament will be $75 per team this year. If a team registers for more than one problem, the fee is per problem.
